Privacy policy

What petesena.com collects when you visit, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.

Who we are

petesena.com is the personal website of Pete Sena. It is run by the team at Digital Surgeons, LLC, 470 James Street, Suite 001, New Haven, Connecticut 06513. When this policy says “we”, “us” or “our”, it means Pete and that team. This policy covers the information collected through this website.

Information you give us

  • Contact form. Your name, email, company, what you are interested in (a keynote, a workshop, a brainstorm or something else) and your message.
  • Emails. Anything you include when you write to us directly.
  • Newsletter. Subscribing happens on Substack, not on this site. Substack’s own privacy policy covers your subscription.
  • Booking. If you book time through a scheduling link, that tool collects the details you enter under its own privacy policy.

Information collected automatically

When you visit, we and the tools below collect technical information such as your IP address, browser, device, operating system, the pages you view, the site that sent you here and an approximate location based on your IP address. We use cookies, pixels and your browser’s local storage to do this.

The tools we use

  • Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager and Google's site tag, to understand how the site is used. Microsoft Clarity, for the same purpose, records how visitors click and scroll through pages; it does not run if you decline cookies.
  • Meta Pixel to measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram, including remarketing.
  • X Pixel to measure our ads on X.
  • RB2B to recognize business visitors, for example by matching a visit to a professional profile or work email. RB2B only runs if you click Accept in the cookie banner.
  • Webflow hosts this website and receives contact form messages. Cloudflare Stream delivers the videos.

How we use and share information

  • To reply to your message and talk with you about keynotes, workshops, brainstorms and other work.
  • To understand which pages are useful and to improve the site.
  • To measure and improve our advertising, through the tools listed above.
  • With the service providers that run the site and these tools, only as needed for them to do that work.
  • As anonymous, combined statistics that cannot identify you.
  • If required by law, to respond to legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our visitors, our team and others.
  • As part of a merger, acquisition or similar business transaction, under the same protections.

We do not sell your information for money. Some advertising tools may count as “sharing” or “selling” under certain US state privacy laws, and you can opt out of them at any time (see Your choices).

Legal basis

Where laws such as the GDPR apply, we process information based on your consent (for example RB2B and, where required, cookies), our legitimate interests in running and improving the site and replying to you, steps you ask us to take before working together, and our legal obligations.

Your choices

  • Cookie settings. Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to accept or decline. If you decline, the analytics and advertising tools stop for you and RB2B never runs.
  • Browser signals. We treat the Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a decline.
  • Browser settings. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.
  • Emails. You can unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link inside it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example California and other US states, the UK or the EU), you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it.

  • To see or update your information, email info@digitalsurgeons.com with the subject “Update of Personal Information”.
  • To delete it, email info@digitalsurgeons.com with the subject “Removal of Personal Information Request”, or send a letter to the address above.

We will reply within the time the law requires.

How long we keep it

We keep information as long as needed to reply to you and work together, to meet legal obligations, to resolve disputes and to enforce our agreements. Analytics and advertising data is kept according to each tool’s settings.

Security

We use technical, administrative and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of sending or storing data online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Other sites

This site links to other sites and services, such as Substack, LinkedIn, X, YouTube and Instagram. This policy does not cover them, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices.

Children

This site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If we learn that a child under 13 sent us personal information, we will delete it.

Where data is processed

We and our tools are based in the United States, so your information may be processed there.

Changes

We may update this policy. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top.
